Liz Lovely unveils "green" Valentine's Day Gift Packages

January 22, 2008 (Waitsfield, Vermont) Liz Lovely, Inc. - makers of the first and only certified organic, fair trade, and vegan cookies - have released a brand new line of chocolate-covered nuts, pretzels, ginger, and Lovely Oh's. The new products are available exclusively at the company's web store and will available in "green" (i.e. eco-friendly) gift packages for Valentine's Day.

Liz and the crew are coating almonds, cashews, macadamia nuts, candied ginger, pretzels, and new Lovely Oh's in organic, fair trade, and vegan dark chocolate using a 33-foot chocolate truffle-making machine (somewhere, Willy Wonka smiles). Lovely Oh's are creme-filled sandwich cookies and come in three flavors - regular, mint, and cocoa.

While the new items are launching during the season of love, Liz Lovely is also showing some love for the environment. "Our ingredients are organic and eco-friendly, so we decided to go with 'green' packaging to keep in line with our socially responsible mission," said Liz Lovely president and founder Liz Holtz. "For example, we're using biodegradable containers made from corn instead of funky plastics, and a lot of people reuse our gift tubs to plant herb gardens, as party coolers, and in other creative ways."

Holtz is confident the new products will be met with enthusiasm by loyal customers and also introduce the five year-old company to a whole new market. "It's exciting for us because we get to fill another niche like we're doing with our cookies," said Holtz. "These new gourmet chocolate-covered products are organic and vegan and we think people will be really excited to try them out."
