Organic & Non-GMO
Why Support Organic?
Until the invention of DDT in 1939, everything was grown organically. Chemical pesticides and herbicides are harming us. They contribute to soil erosion, water table contamination, cancer, and the end of sustainable family farms. Organic foods taste better and studies have shown that they retain more vitamins and minerals.
Why You Should Not Support GMO's
Genentically Modified Organisms save factory farms big money. An "enhanced" tomato that poisons insects is a cheap fix. Big companies have bought fast approvals from the FDA for GMO foods without long-term testing or required labeling. And, due to natural cross-pollination, GMO's may soon be irreversibly seeded into every field America. Europeans are aggressively legislating against GMO foods, while our governmnet is asleep at the wheel. Buy Organic and you will be voting against GMO's.

Liz Lovely is Certified Organic
Liz Lovely is ceritified organic by the Northeast Organic Farmers of Vermont, which is accredited by the USDA National Organic Program. As an organic food producer, we carefully monitored by these third-party organizations. The process includes on-site inspections, audit-trail reporting, and a bunch of other technical stuff.
Historically, the organic laws were based on legislation passed in California. Recently, the federal government has taken control of the process. It's great that the U.S. goverment is interested, but their involvement has sparked a lot of controversy. Nonetheless, organic certification is insurance that what you buy is actually organic.
